Summne Shenga

Summne Shenga- The phrase or the name may seem weird or funny to many.. In English it means Simply timepass (Shenga means groundnuts) :) This is my gang and it is as lively and funny as it sounds. Its really one of the most joyful group which anyone can ever come across. I am very much proud to be one of the co-founder and to be a part of such lovely group which has given a new dimension to my life.

Friendship is one of the true relationship which everyone cherish to have in their life. Friendship never complains of anything. It always grow with understanding and the trust between the individuals. After our Engg we all joined different software companies and got scattered through out South India. As all of us were now moved into different places , (bangalore, chennai and mysore), so very rarely we used to get time to meet and share our thoughts and feelings or to do masti(fun).So, the thought in all our minds was "How do we keep in touch and make this friendship grow?". It was a thought everyone had, but our dude Mr Kashi alias Chota don came up with this idea of having a distribution list. We coined our Distribution list as "Summne Shenga" and it was a tremendous success. We used "Summne Shenga" to keep our friends aware with whatever was happening in our personal/professional life.

Summne shenga is a group formed by intellectually brilliant group of people.
The group comprises of members namely MR.Vijay Zalaki [Don/Kashi], MR.Sunil Kerappanvar[Sunya], MR.Prasanna Hegde[Pachi],Mr.Mandar Kunte[Mandy/Hajam], Miss.Akshata Shanbhag[Paapu], Mrs.Sulabha Bhat[Dummy/Safari] and myself i.e Sudheer Kottal(LG meaning Love Guru).

The origin of this thought dates back to our college days again when we all used to sit in canteen and do timepass.
On one such beautiful and leisurely day , our dear Hajam(Mandy) and LG(Sudheer) said "Come to canteen and lets do shenga".
Utilising this word exactly when we were in need , Kashi coined the name for our Distribution list as "Summne Shenga" .

Shenga group grew a little larger as days passed by.
We brought people with same frequency and attitude in to our group. Guru came into shenga and was one of the active members until sometime back. Later Ishrat[Begum] and Shubha[KBKJ] were introduced into the group. They were truly an asset to the group and the fun in pulling their legs was a usual humourous activity that every Shenga memeber followed like a ritual. Some great words coined were "Talamala madkobeda", "Avra/Nanna marji appa" , "TGIF(thank god its friday)", "Sandharbha bandaga helteevi" and the list goes on ...


There is a specific funny incident that has triggered the special nick names for each of the members too. You need to join us to know the details nad be aware and be prepared to expect the statement "Sandharbha bandaga helteevi" , if you ask us suddenly about these details.
Making fun and inventing fun in everything you see/feel is the basic goal/motto of "Summne Shenga". So there is no room for people who get annoyed /sad etc etc at small pranks and mischiefs.

Now, after sometime some people(Begum and KBKJ) could not continue as members of the group due to understandable reasons. Also , some of the members(whom i shall not mention the name here) in our gang became extinct but still we the co-founders are clinging to the group and carrying on really well.

The members have come through different phases in life and are moving in and out of these phases currently.
Lot more to be done and we will keep up the spirit of shenga alive at all costs.
